Getting out of the diet mentality can be a tough thing. You feel like you have to eat the right way and exercise the right way. This sets up a sense of deprivation whereas you always feel you’re missing out on the foods you love, this is not a good thing to do. You want to have the right motivation and intent and not force yourself to do anything, just because you feel you need to. It’s important to eat right and it’s important to find a diet that becomes the norm for you and matches a lifestyle that you can enjoy Day-in and Day-out.
- Trying to be healthier without a “dieting mentality” takes work but you don’t have to be perfect and don’t need to get upset at your current state
- Focus on what makes you feel good instead of being miserable when trying to better your diet and exercise habits
- Don’t let your fear of failure hold you back from working out, and don’t insist on perfection in your workout
“To get rid of that diet mentality, that guilt mentality, feeling like you have to do your workouts and feeling like you have to eat clean or track your food. From my own experience at all stems from not feeling like you’re good enough now a lot of this takes finding what it means to be healthy and happy for you and this can come from practicing self-love, working on your self-esteem, working on your confidence, body positivity.”
